So What is Bub’s Toys and Gifts All About?

www.Bubstoys.com

Bub is not a “who,” but a word that evolved from “Bubbadah!” an exclamation often spontaneously spouted when one of our family members is unable to contain his or her excitement.  (Try it out!  It rolls off of your tongue so much nicer than “Bingo,” or “Holy Cow,” or “Oh My Goodness and All the Stars in Heavens to Betsy!”)  Bubbadah is actually a word one of my nephews created when he breathlessly attempted to tell us several things all at once.  Poor fella!  He was about three years old then, and he’s now all grown up.  You know how it is with families – some things you just never live down!

Bub’s Toys and Gifts sprouted from Bubbadah’s Buys, an online store I created several years ago that sold discount family fashions, gifts and toys on eBay and Amazon.  The store did so well and grew so big that it exploded into two separate stores.  In fact, you can still visit Bubbadah’s Buys on eBay and Amazon and find some fabulous deals on designer clothing!

Here at Bub’s Toys and Gifts I have one very stern desideratum that I call the Peter Pan Precept – “Never Grow Up!”  In order to sell toys, one must simply be the child.  And I think you’ll find from our outrageous selection of bouncing monkeys, smashing Hulk hands, grinding RipStiks, fluttering Tinkerbells and even “pharting” elephants, that everyone might be taking this little rule of mine just a bit too seriously!

Not to leave out our discerning gift shoppers who are searching for the perfect present to celebrate a birthday, marriage or new baby.  Our Wedding and Baby Time Capsules and extensive Bearington Bear Collection are just some of the lines we offer that are sure to cajole an extra hug from that special someone!

I hope you sit back, browse and enjoy what our store has to offer.  And if you’re excited by your purchase and/or service from Bub’s Toys and Gifts you are certainly more than welcome to give us a  “Bubbadah!” shout out as often as you like!

Sincerely,

Joann Woods Yoder

Fierce Fun Toys

Norman Phartephant
What’s more fun than a barrel of monkeys? How about a farting elephant?

Fierce Fun Toys has taken “pull my finger” to a whole new level by launching Norman Phartephant, a 10 inch cuddly plush elephant who, well, has a bit of a gas problem. Squeeze his tail, and you’ll get to hear one of eight different 'phart' sounds, along with an "oops" and "sorry"! Despite his gassy situation, you see, Norman still tries to be very polite.
As silly as he is, this sweet little Phartephant, also offers a deep, dark secret that parents should never, ever share with their kids – he’s educational. Norman’s story is revealed in a 32-page, soft cover, brightly illustrated picture book that follows him on his first day of making a new friend. Children learn that Norman Phartephant is an African elephant adopted by a U.S. zoo, and the change in his diet is to blame for making his tummy upset. He doesn’t let homesickness and a little gas get in his way, however. Throughout the book, Norman explores the zoo, learns a bit about family structure, different cultures, and geography all while making friends. Despite his gas, Norman's adventures are a blast!
Norman Phartephant has received awards and endorsements from Great Dad.com, Toy Report.org and The Toy Man Product Guide with acclamations of “pretty darn cute,” “hysterical,” “huggable,” and “habit forming.” But, perhaps the best recommendations come from the giggles, cuddles and full-bellied laughter that Norman wheedles from children and parents alike.
Ben Kachoo

You can purchase Norman and his book separately at Bubbadah’s Toys on eBay or Amazon or at http://www.bubstoys.com/, or buy both of them together and receive a cool zippered vinyl tote bag. Be on the lookout as well for two of Norman’s friends, Harry Hiccurs, the hiccupping koala bear, and Ben KaCHOO, an adorable pink hippo with a bad case of allergies. Both should be available at Bubbadah along with their respective soft cover books around mid-Fall.

Educating Kids Can Be Fun!

dollhouse kitchen
Plush T-Rex
Some couples build a family and/or business together after they're married.  In August, 1988, Doug chickened out on proposing to his soulmate, Melissa, and asked her to be his business partner instead.  While still dating, they built up the now renowned Melissa & Doug educational toy company out of Doug's garage (quietly, so as not to disturb his parents!)

Today, over 1,000 high quality Melissa & Doug products are designed out of their corporate office in Connecticut and distributed nationwide.  Kids love their wooden puzzles, plush toys, dolls, dollhouses and other fun toys that give them lots of opportunity for good old-fashioned play.  Parents love the durability and high quality of these products that have won at least thirty different awards.

Bubbadah's is proud to now offer an extensive line of these wonderful Melissa & Doug products.  Visit www.Bubstoys.com daily for sale updates and free shipping offers!

Back-To-School Tales

Summer was fun. But now it’s done. And little bare feet that once skipped across lawns and sand are now covered in brand new school shoes and shuffling to the bus stop.

You could lecture your kids once again about how you “walked 20 miles through four feet of snow to get to school.” Or you could just tell them how lucky they are that they don’t live in this small village in China:

Nearly 500 children, from Maji village in Fugong town, Yunnan province, had to cross the most dangerous stretch of the Nujiang River each day. They fastened themselves to the cable with a metal carabineer and a rope and slid across the 200 meter wide canyon.
Four-year-old children were usually taken across by their parents, and began to go by themselves from the age of five. One five-year-old got stuck in the middle of the cable for nearly 20 minutes
China officials finally consented to pay £35,000 for a footbridge after a television program did a cover story about the children's dangerous daily journey.

No matter how your kids travel to school, make sure they travel in style with the right backpack for all that extra homework!
